Pastor PaulPaul Johnsen, Pastor

We are very excited to welcome our new pastor, Paul Johnsen. He will help us on our faith journey as our congregation grows. He is being sent to serve our church with high recommendations from Conference, and his past congregations and staff in Hartford, Green Bay, Platteville, Kaukauna and Superior Wisconsin. He is a graduate of UW-Madison, Duke Divinity School as well as having recently completed a Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. His thesis, “Exploring the Effectiveness of Preaching Evangelism in the United Methodist Church,” can be accessed at and a hard copy is also available at the church office. This is a wonderful scholarly work connecting current trends, and the history of the United Methodist Church with new strategies to grow the Church and a Faith based society.

He officially begins his ministry in Fort Atkinson on Wednesday July 5, 2017, although he has already been meeting with the staff and the Accountable Leadership Team, and sharing conversation with Pastor Russ to get started! His passions include: preaching (connecting current events with messages found in Scripture), connecting the church to the community and connecting individual’s talents to ministry and mission.

Pastor Paul and his wife Sarah have relocated to Fort Atkinson and are in the process of settling in their home, as he also gets settles into his church office. They have two adult sons, Ben and Ted, daughter-in-law Megan, identical twin granddaughters Charlotte and Harper and a grand dog Priscilla. His hobbies include: photography, golf (recently worked as a volunteer at the US Open held at Erin Hills), lap swimming, biking, Badger sports (football and basketball) and visiting historic United States Presidential sites.  This email address is being protected from spambots.
