Volunteer in Mission
The United Methodist Volunteers in Mission organization offers many additional ways to serve in Wisconsin, across the country, and even internationally.
Our very own Midge Gill is on a mission. Literally.
Midge attends our contemporary service, and with her recent retirement, she’s been seeking new opportunities to serve. After researching the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and being impressed by both their work and the high ratings received by two global charity ratings services, she signed up to be part of the 2018 UMCOR Sager Brown mission trip. Sager Brown is a depot for disaster relief supplies located in Baldwin, Louisiana. She leaves for this serving experience on July 29, and for an entire week her mission team will sort supplies, make school bags, and put health kits together – items needed instantaneously when the call for help comes. Watch for the story of Midge’s mission experience when she returns and keep her in your prayers!
Are you looking for an opportunity to serve others but hesitate because of cost? Here at FUMC, a fund – called Partners in Mission – was specifically established to help mission trip volunteers, like Midge, cover a portion of the costs of mission trips and local projects.
Read on to learn more about Partners in Mission Fund…it was established to encourage mission involvement by either participating in mission trips or raising money to support local projects. Awarded funds can be applied to 1) the cost of going on Volunteer in Mission trips, 2) used by individuals for the purchase supplies used in fundraisers to support mission projects such as Operation Christmas Child, or 3) used by individuals to produce kits for homeless shelters, make blankets for Linus Project, etc. Contact the church office, 563-4903 or email@example.com, for more details and information on how to apply.
Our Global Mission Connection
Our church sends people to the corners of our world to bring the message of Jesus love and salvation.
Missy in South Asia
Missy is living in South Asia. She and a friend are working to translate an oral set of Bible stories, which will span the Old and New Testaments, to share the message of Jesus, with one of many of the language groups in the nation where she is living.
